DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Checks
There is a requirement for all Barking and Dagenham Council Members to be subject to a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check. This is outlined in: paragraph 5.3 of Part 5, Chapter 1 of the Council's constitution
DBS check
If you do not have a current DBS Certificate, lois.taylor@lbbd.gov.uk can assist you to apply for one. The Council will pay for the check to be completed.
In order to do so, you will need to provide:
- Your National Insurance Number
- Details of your addresses over the last 5 years
- Any 3 of the following: Passport, Driving Licence, Bank Statement, Utility Bill
When a current DBS check has been carried out, this will be recorded in Members' Personal Information on the Council's website.
